During his Sony career to date, Chris has coordinated the legal support for the establishment of Sony’s global PC business, its first online commerce activity, its first networked personal communicator product line and first internet-enabled television product.
Professional Background
Chris is the senior vice president and deputy general counsel of Sony Electronics Inc. In his primary role, Chris manages the transactional legal affairs of Sony’s main U.S. consumer, business and components electronics product engineering and manufacturing divisions and supervises the attorneys and legal professionals supporting those groups. He is also directly involved in supporting Sony’s global Reader digital hardware and service initiative, its new global digital cinema technology and content initiative, various new platform wireless initiatives, as well as general electronics and related services new business development.
Professional Affiliations
Chris was president of the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel in 2006, which won the national Chapter of the Year under his leadership. He also has served as Chair of ACC’s national IP Executive Committee. He is an internal champion of Sony’s workplace diversity initiatives and active with several local and Silicon Valley community and public policy organizations.
