Municipal & Government
Spath represents both lenders and borrowers, and along with Charles B. Christensen, recently assisted the San Diego Housing Commission with secured borrowing facilities in excess of $95 million. In addition, Spath represented the City of San Marcos and its Redevelopment Agency with recent property acquisitions and secured loans in excess of $75 million.
After Spath graduated from law school, he went to work as an associate in the San Francisco office of Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell structuring foreign investments in U.S. high tech companies. In 2002, Spath and Charles B. Christensen formed the firm that is now called Christensen & Spath LLP, a boutique law firm specializing in municipal and government, affordable housing and redevelopment, tax, real estate, low income housing tax credits, secured lending, leasing, construction and litigation in the same areas.
Spath is originally from New York, but has resided in California since 1988. He has been married to his wonderful wife Tammy for 11 years. They have two children, Sophia and Kai (Walter IV), and live in Point Loma.
