Of course, we all will be touched by heart disease and stroke. Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in the United States. Every 3 seconds, an American has a heart attack or stroke. Over the last 30 years, an obesity epidemic has taken hold that threatens the health of our children and is on track to completely ruin our already overburdened medical system. The AHA is essential to putting heart disease and stroke in its place, to both save lives and perhaps, more importantly, to improve the quality of lives.
