Major Cases
As an estate planning attorney, my cases involve helping my clients plan for their future and protect their family. Whether helping a client with modest means or one with substantial assets, each case brings its own significance and satisfaction in designing a plan that best fits the client’s needs and desires.
Professional Background
My practice areas include estate planning, assisting small businesses with contractual matters and immigration. Before starting my own practice, I was a staff attorney for a local non-profit organization. In this role, I gained experience in a variety of different civil legal matters, for instance, administrative agency law as it pertain to governmental benefits, landlord tenant matters, bankruptcy, tax matters and estate planning. I have also taken pro bono asylum cases from Casa Cornelia Law Center.
Professional Affiliations
I am serving as a member of the board of directors for Lawyers Club of San Diego. I am also a member of the board of directors for Women of Color in Law. Additionally, I am a member of San Diego County Bar Association and Greater San Diego Business Association.
Personal Background
I was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Los Angeles. I studied political science at UC Berkeley before attending New England School of Law. After working as a staff attorney for a local nonprofit, in 2013 I opened my own practice.
I was encouraged by my parents to pursue my dreams with enthusiasm and persistence because with hard work and due diligence, everything is possible. I am the youngest of three and very close to my family; my sister recently finished law school and my brother is attending medical school.
