Major Cases
Nadia Bermudez represents corporate clients and public agencies in employment litigation matters and disputes throughout California. She recently represented a former city manager in the Los Angeles area accused of violations of the California False Claims Act by his employer. Given her extensive background in issues related to diversity, she is a frequent speaker and counselor on employment and workplace inclusion matters. Bermudez also has significant experience conducting sensitive workplace investigations, including allegations of sexual harassment, invasion of privacy and whistleblowing.

Bermudez is currently an equity partner with Garcia, Hernández, Sawhney & Bermudez, LLP. Her firm maintains offices in Oakland, Glendale and San Diego, where she is the partner in charge. She represents employers in various types of employment-related litigation including claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, and wage and hour violations. The firm specializes in labor and employment, as well as offering a full panoply of services for public entities, including cities, school districts, counties and specialty districts and agencies. The firm serves as outside general counsel for various school districts throughout the state. Previously, Bermudez was an associate attorney with Brown Law Group, Baker & McKenzie LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop LLP in San Diego.
Professional Affiliations
From 2010 to 2013, Bermudez served on the San Diego County Bar Association Board of Directors. In 2014, she received the Diversity Service Award from the SDCBA, in recognition for her commitment to diversity in the profession. Bermudez is a past-president of Lawyers Club of San Diego, a bar association focusing on the advancement of women in the profession. Bermudez is also past-president of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association and currently serves as president of its 501(c)3 charitable sister organization, the SDLRLA Scholarship Fund. Under her leadership, the SDLRLA Scholarship Fund began a bar stipend scholarship program, which is now in its fourth year of existence. Bermudez is also currently a regional leader for the Hispanic National Bar Association and the California La Raza Lawyers Association. In 2011, she was selected as one of five lawyers nationally to be recognized as a Top Attorney under 40 by the Hispanic National Bar Association. Bermudez was also honored by San Diego Metropolitan Magazine as a “40 under 40” honoree in 2007, and as a Young Top Attorney in 2007, as one of San Diego County's best young lawyers.

Bermudez is a member of Run Women Run, whose focus is to recruit, mentor and support women candidates for elected and appointed office in San Diego County.
Personal Background
Bermudez is married to attorney Sergio Feria. Bermudez enjoys live arts, reading and spending time with her son, Samuel. She was born and raised in El Centro. Her older sister Ruth Bermudez Montenegro was recently elected as Superior Court Judge of the Imperial County. Her younger sister, Eran Bermudez, is a partner with Garcia, Hernández, Sawhney & Bermudez, LLP.
