Major Cases
I have worked on the master-planned communities of: Manele Bay and Koele in Lanai, Hawaii; Princeville in Kauai, Hawaii; Broken Top in Oregon; and Desert Mountain in Arizona. I’ve also worked on the Pinnacle Museum Tower and Vantage Pointe mixed-use high-rise projects in downtown San Diego. I am working on the Summerly master planned community in Lake Elsinore, and the 40-story high-rise project under construction at 15th Street and Island Avenue in the East Village.
Professional Background
I specialize in representing developers of residential and commercial real estate developments. I have extensive experience in various types of subdivided land projects in California, Hawaii, Arizona and Oregon -- condominiums, planned developments, standard subdivisions, mixed-use projects, mixed-use high-rise projects, commercial condominium projects, residential master-planned communities, resort master-planned communities, golf course communities and custom home developments. I work regularly with builders and developers to obtain subdivision public reports from the California Bureau of Real Estate and approval of subdivision documents from local city and county planning departments. I also work with developers and lenders on broken common interest development projects.
Professional Affiliations
My involvement with the Real Property Section of the State Bar of California includes: adviser of the executive committee (1999 to 2000); vice chair of the executive committee (1998 to 1999); member of the executive committee (1996 to 1998); chair of the pro bono subsection (1997 to 1999); Southern California chair of the common interest development subsection (1993 to 1996); and member of the Real Property Section (1989-present).
I have been a speaker on various common interest development topics, including “Condominium and Planned Developments,” “Developer and Member ADR Procedures – Common Interest Developments” and “The Unique Problems of Commercial / Mixed-Use Condominium Projects.”
I am member of the Korean American Bar Association and serve as a mentor to young attorneys. I have been a speaker on "Breaking Ceilings: Perspectives from Korean American Women Lawyers" and "Defying the Odds: Women of Color Navigating a Career in Law."
