Major Cases
Campo focuses her practice primarily on family law matters – ranging from high-conflict child custody issues, military divorces and parentage actions, and step-parent adoptions to negotiating marital settlement agreements. While a true advocate of mediation and other settlement methods, she remains dedicated to being a strong voice for her clients and strategically litigates as necessary.
She also represents guardians seeking guardianship of minor children, and individuals seeking assistance with immigration matters for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
Professional Background
Campo operates a solo practice offering client-centered services with personal attention.
Prior to opening her own practice, Campo obtained courtroom experience as an intern for the Santa Barbara District Attorney. She also clerked for the Santa Barbara Family Law Facilitator’s office and in-chambers for a Santa Barbara Probate Judge.
She also worked for several years in public safety, and as a result is adept at handling high-stress situations with grace and ease. This experience is particularly helpful to her clients working law enforcement or military – or spouses who need an attorney that understands the demands of these careers.
Professional Affiliations
Campo believes strongly in giving back through pro bono work and other service to the community. She volunteers with the Professional Alliance for Children, serves as an elected member of the San Diego County Bar Association’s NLD board of directors, is the co-chair of the SDCBA’s children at risk committee, and is the co-chair for Lawyer’s Club leadership development committee.
Brigid Campo is a 2013 recipient of the ABA Military Pro Bono Project Outstanding Services Award.
Personal Affiliations
Campo is an active member of the Junior League of San Diego, and serves on their textbook scholarship committee. During her first year with JLSD, she was recognized for providing the most volunteer hours during the Fall of 2012.
Personal Background
Campo was born and raised in the Midwest, and brought the values and work ethic she obtained there with her when moving to California more than 10 years ago. She is now proud to call Southern California her home, and she enjoys living and exploring the outdoors with her husband, young son, and their loyal dog.
