I am a Deputy City Attorney assigned to the public works and transportation and storm water departments, where I advise the right-of-way design division, street division, and transportation engineering operations. I provide contract drafting and review, transportation policy/legal advice and legislative drafting.
I have prepared many resolutions and ordinances to be voted on by the San Diego City Council. Most recently, I have been involved in the process of implementing the Oversized Vehicle Ordinance, enacting a series of new utility undergrounding districts, and helping to craft the city’s upcoming car sharing program.
I worked five years as an independent contractor providing financial auditing services to a variety of major insurance carriers. I spent two years as an intern at the City Attorney’s office, working on projects for the city’s treasury department. When I was hired at the City Attorney’s civil advisory unit, I worked for the government and finance unit, helping with board and commission appointments and overseeing the community projects, programs, and services funding for the City Council. I began advising the public works and transportation and storm water departments a year ago.
I am a licensed member of the California Bar.
I come from a large Irish-Catholic family, where I am the oldest of five children and twenty-two grandchildren. I live in Pacific Beach.
