Jennifer Hansen is an associate attorney at Hooper, Lundy & Bookman PC, where she focuses her practice on health care law. She represents hospitals, nursing homes, physicians and other health care providers in a wide range of matters, including general litigation, medical staff law, managed care litigation, reimbursement and long-term care issues.
Hansen is involved in several organizations, including the American Health Lawyers Association, California Society of Healthcare Attorneys, BIOCOM's Reimbursement Committee, and Healthcare Financial Management Association. She recently became co-chair of the San Diego County Bar Association's Law & Medicine Section.
In addition to her health care practice, Hansen is firmly committed to community service. In 2009-2010, she received the California State Bar Association’s Wiley W. Manuel Award and Legal Aid Society of San Diego’s Outstanding Service Award. She received the Big Sister of the Year Award in 2007 from Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County. Hansen also obtained successful jury verdicts in two pro bono conservatorship trials and currently serves as co-chair of the Lawyers Club Community Outreach Committee.
Hansen earned her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with honors, and her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. As an undergraduate, she spent a semester studying abroad at the University of Seville in Spain.
Prior to joining Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, Hansen practiced medical malpractice defense law.
Hansen is admitted to the Supreme Court of California; U.S. District Court – Southern, Central, Northern and Eastern Districts of California; and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
