Renee Galente is a native San Diegan who was raised by her grandparents, Irene and Louis F. Galente, in North County San Diego. As a civilian worker on Camp Pendleton with the Marine Corps Community Services, Galente worked her way up from an office administration position to manager of one of the base's most visited facilities.
Galente enrolled in Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2005. During her first semester, Galente was published in the Student Lawyer magazine of the American Bar Association. She was on the Dean’s Distinguished Honor Roll and Honor Roll every semester of law school. She was awarded several CALI awards, Jefferson Medals and Witkin Awards, as well as making the National Dean’s List throughout her law school career, and was actively involved in several student organizations. Galente found her true calling during law school in the form of trial advocacy classes.
Galente was chosen by the faculty and staff of Thomas Jefferson School of Law as the winner of the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Student Award in 2008 right before she graduated magna cum laude.
As an alumna, Galente continues to be an active participant at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. She is involved in three alumni board committees, and is an alumni mentor to the school's Women’s Law Association.
After seeing Fred Gray (civil rights attorney for Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) speak in San Francisco, Galente was motivated to “be the change she wanted to see in the world.” She is a proud member and supporter of the Human Rights Campaign, which seeks to improve the lives of LGBT Americans. Galente is also a member of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association.
Galente primarily handles business litigation, land use, contracts, condemnation, eminent domain and personal injury cases. She was named a semi-finalist in The Daily Transcript’s Top Attorneys of San Diego, Personal Injury Division, in 2010.
Today, Galente is honored to be a part of the team at Thorsnes Bartolotta McGuire. She is admitted to practice law in the state of California and the Southern District of the U.S. District Court of California.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, Consumer Attorneys of California, San Diego County Bar Association, San Diego County Bar Association, Young/New Lawyer Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association.
