Megan Mazza is senior counsel in Allen Matkins' San Diego office, where she represents real estate developers and investors statewide. Her work encompasses all aspects of real estate development litigation and related business litigation matters.
Mazza's experience and expertise include: large consumer fraud cases and class actions, cases involving contracts for the purchase and sale of land for development -- including the entitlement process, disputes related to commercial contracts, disputes between developers and brokers, condemnation and eminent domain, easement disputes, consumer purchase and sale agreement disputes and antitrust claims.
Bosa Development selected Mazza as its primary counsel for arbitrating disputes with defaulting buyers over escrow deposits for condominiums in its two premier San Diego projects. Mazza has also served as counsel for national homebuilder and Fortune 500 company D.R. Horton, "America's Builder," in a number of cases. Most prominently, she has been counsel to D.R. Horton in two nationwide class-action cases alleging fraud and unfair business practices.
In addition to her legal work, Mazza is committed to community service. She is on the board of the Big Sister League of San Diego, an organization that provides housing for needy women and provides mentoring to at-risk girls.
She received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2004 and her B.A. in government, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 2001.
