Ariel A. Javier is the founding shareholder of the Law Office of Ariel A. Javier, A Professional Corporation, which was established in March 2009. Javier is a licensed attorney with the State Bar of California and is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of California. His practice areas include tax litigation, tax planning, tax compliance/preparation, entity formations, business planning, and traditional accounting and bookkeeping services.
Javier graduated from San Diego State University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and an emphasis in accounting. Thereafter, Javier began working at a local CPA firm. During his five years at the CPA firm, Javier laid the foundation for what would become an extensive accounting and tax background.
To enhance his professional experience, Javier obtained a law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and graduated cum laude in 2005.
Soon after graduating from law school, Javier joined a San Diego-based tax law firm. In addition to further developing and improving his tax and accounting skills, Javier also handled tax controversy matters involving U.S. Tax Court litigation and the Internal Revenue Service, the California Franchise Tax Board, and California Employment Development Department audits.
In 2009, Javier opened his own private tax law practice on the principle of providing superior and comprehensive professional services to clients in the areas related to and involving taxes.
One of the benefits of having a private practice is that it has allowed Javier to become more involved with community service. He is currently the treasurer of the Filipino American Lawyers of San Diego and plans to run for president for the 2012 term. Javier is also a regular volunteer at the Housing Opportunities Collaborative’s Home Owner’s Mobile Education (HOME) Clinics. The HOME Clinics are traveling clinics that provide free housing, legal and tax information, particularly to distressed homeowners. Javier received the “Best New Face at the HOME Clinics” Award in 2010.
Javier is also a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego and the South Bay County Bar Association.
