Jason S. Sheinberg has been practicing law since 2004 and has been with San Diego Law Firm since February 2009. His practice is centered on estate planning, trust administrations, probate administrations, Medi-Cal planning, conservatorships and guardianships. Sheinberg works with families to make sure their estates are properly planned, and also with beneficiaries and fiduciaries to see to it that the estates are properly administered.
Prior to joining San Diego Law Firm, Sheinberg led the estate planning division of a firm in North County San Diego. He previously clerked for notable Los Angeles attorney Marvin Mitchelson. During law school, Sheinberg was a member of the fraternal organization Phi Alpha Delta.
Sheinberg’s favorite thing about practicing law is helping people from all walks of life with their legal matters and then becoming their attorney for life. Being a part of such an amazing firm, and having kind and intelligent co-workers makes that pursuit even sweeter. Sheinberg was overjoyed to find a group of like-minded people that put attention to detail and personal relationships above all else. He is honored to be a part of a firm that has been recognized by the Better Business Bureau for marketplace ethics and by the San Diego Business Journal as one of the “Top 10 Best Places to Work.” Sheinberg found a home in San Diego Law Firm, and they are happy to call him their own.
Sheinberg is a court-appointed attorney (Guardianship and Conservatorship) in both the San Diego and Vista Courts, and he considers it an honor and a privilege to serve the courts in this manner. Being a court-appointed attorney was his first personal achievement as an attorney, and it has been one of the most vital roles Sheinberg has carried throughout his profession.
Being able to go to the residence of a disabled child or adult and become a part of that person’s family is something that Sheinberg said can never be replicated. The satisfaction that comes from helping the elderly, or someone who is developmentally disabled, is beyond compare.
Sheinberg is also a member of the State Bar of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, the Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of California, and the University of San Diego Planned Giving Committee. He received his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2003 and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of San Diego in 2000. He is admitted to practice in California, U.S. District Court for the Southern and Central Districts of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Because University of San Diego is Sheinberg’s alma mater, it makes him proud to give back to the place that gave him so much. The foundation for his legal career was built by professors like Molly McClain and Michael Stoddard. Being an ambassador to the University of San Diego is a great honor to Sheinberg.
Sheinberg was born and raised in Los Gatos, Calif., and went to Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, Calif. In his free time, Sheinberg enjoys traveling and spending time with his beloved wife, Sara; his amazing parents, Bruce and Barbara; and all of his family and friends. His wife Sara is truly an inspiration. It is only with her love and support, and their shared faith, that Sheinberg has been able to accomplish so much. Sheinberg looks forward to welcoming his twin baby boys in January 2012.
