Ilona Antonyan is a civil litigation trial attorney. She is the owner of The Law Office of Ilona Antonyan, APC.
Antonyan is trilingual, fluent in Russian and Spanish. She immigrated to the United States as a refugee in 1992 after living in Armenia. She finished law school in two years and graduated from Case Western University with honors in two majors and two minors in 2.5 years. She holds a dual bachelor's degree in psychology and political science, with philosophy and Spanish as minors.
Antonyan opened her firm straight out of law school. Her firm now consists of three attorneys and several paralegals. One of her associates is a Certified Family Law Specialist; another is an experienced civil litigation attorney specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice and business litigation. Antonyan litigates both family and civil cases. She enjoys doing jury trials and has so far succeeded in the ones she has tried.
This year, she became a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Specialization. She is the youngest person in California to become a Certified Family Law Specialist after meeting the vigorous requirements in only five years.
Antonyan holds a real estate broker license and invented a product for which the Patent and Trademark Office granted her a patent. She is currently in the process of receiving her Series 7 and Series 22 securities licenses, and she is expected to receive a Certified Financial Planning degree by next year.
Besides work, Antonyan enjoys running, dancing, reading self-improvement and business literature, and traveling. She is a member of the American Association for Justice, Consumer Attorneys of California, San Diego County Bar Association, State Bar of California, National Association of Realtors and the San Diego Association of Realtors.
"I love what I do, I love my clients, and I love being in court,” Antonyan said. “Dalai Lama had a positive message — he said, ‘Live one day at a time and make it a masterpiece.’ I view my life and work this way. When it comes to other things in life, my view is well-stated by T.S. Eliot: ‘Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.’”
