Michael Dallo is a tax attorney and certified public accountant. Dallo’s practice focuses primarily on tax controversy matters, including audit representation, administrative appeals, tax debt settlements, tax litigation, and criminal tax defense. Dallo frequently represents individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, State Board of Equalization and the Employment Development Department.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Dallo worked as a certified public accountant in the tax department of a multinational Fortune 500 company, where he conducted tax research and worked with tax attorneys to resolve multimillion dollar tax disputes with the IRS and various state taxing agencies. Dallo also ran his own CPA firm where he prepared tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
While in law school, Dallo was a teaching assistant for a tax court judge, worked in the tax department of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Paris, France, and worked for the tax division of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. Dallo also consulted for a San Diego-based tax controversy law firm. During his tenure, he assisted in the preparation of complex individual and corporate income tax returns, prepared opinion letters on financial transactions involving significant tax positions, and also assisted in developing successful legal arguments in response to IRS demands in audits that helped save clients thousands of dollars in tax savings.
Dallo also serves as general counsel for several San Diego based corporations.
Dallo holds a Master of Laws in Taxation Degree (LL.M) from New York University. Dallo obtained his law degree (J.D.) from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude, order of the coif, and was the recipient of the “Ralph Gano Miller Tax Award” for the highest overall grade point average in the area of taxation in his graduating class. Dallo obtained two bachelor's degrees, in accounting and business administration, from the University of San Diego where he graduated magna cum laude.
Dallo is engaged to be married in August, 2014.
