Heather Ferbert has been with the firm of Christensen & Spath LLP since 2007 where she focuses her practice on municipal law, affordable housing law and real estate law representing public agencies. She regularly advises public agency clients on federal and state conflicts of interest, purchasing, public works issues, affordable housing and environmental issues. Ferbert specializes in transactional real estate matters, including negotiating and drafting density bonus agreements, loan documents and land use restrictions to secure affordable housing in public and private developments.
Recently, she has been involved with amending several local housing ordinances and has drafted numerous public agency policies in the areas of environmental compliance and public agency purchasing. Ferbert also represents clients in private real estate matters, probate and trust administration.
For the past year, Ferbert has served as an advisory board member for the Arthritis Foundation (San Diego Office), working to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases.
Ferbert graduated with honors from California State University, Long Beach, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in international studies. She received her J.D. at the University of San Diego School of Law in 2006. While attending University of San Diego School of Law, Ferbert mentored Teen Court and the Monarch School Debate Team with the University’s pro bono legal advocates. Ferbert is a member of San Diego Lawyer’s Club and the San Diego County Bar Association.
In her free time, Ferbert enjoys spending time with friends and family and baking with her daughter.
