Jing Y. Li is a second-year associate at Carothers DiSante & Freudenberger LLP, a statewide law firm specializing exclusively in labor, employment and immigration law. CDF has distinguished itself as one of the top law firms representing employers in California, with its focus on successfully defending single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits, as well as advising employers on ways to minimize the risk of litigation. The firm has five offices throughout California -- in Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. Li’s practice focuses on employment litigation and investor immigration.
In his counsel to California employers, Li has extensive experience defending claims of race/disability discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour disputes, class actions, government liability, and other labor and employment litigation issues. The strategies Li has developed for his clients emphasize efficient and creative solutions, resulting in successful resolutions and settlements on wage and hour and discrimination claims.
Li is also focused on attracting foreign businesses to California and assisting them with their legal needs in the state. His experience with foreign companies includes the representation of international clients in their investor/immigration applications, as well as identifying many successful United States businesses for investments.
Li is very active in his local community. He participates in events through the Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego (PALSD). Li joined the PALSD as a first-year law student and received valuable advice and guidance from lawyers within PALSD. He now mentors local law students through the PALSD mentor/mentee program and advises law students on how to succeed both in school and in their first legal position.
Prior to joining CDF, Li externed in the U.S. District Court Southern District of California, for the Hon. Peter C. Lewis. Li was also an associate editor of the California Western Law Review and International Law Journal. Li graduated from California Western School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona. He is also fluent in Mandarin, Chinese.
