Jordon Harlan is an attorney at Berman & Riedel where he focuses on nursing home abuse, elder abuse and neglect, and serious personal injury cases.
Harlan received his B.B.A. from University of San Diego in 2006. After enjoying a year off to backpack across Europe and obtain his sommelier certification, he returned to USD School of Law to earn his J.D. While attending law school, he competed nationally on both the moot court and mock trial teams. As a second-year law student, he interned for the San Diego District Attorney’s Office and Justice Howard Wiener, retired from the Court of Appeal. Prior to graduation, he externed for the Honorable John A. Houston in the Southern District of California.
Within his first few years of practice, Harlan tried a number of complex cases to verdict. He first-chaired several jury trials involving business tort claims, including a case that resulted in an award of $750,000 to his client. Most recently, he co-chaired a trial wherein he defended a gastroenterologist accused of medical malpractice. The jury returned a complete defense verdict.
Harlan is an adjunct professor for the USD School of Law, where he coaches a national mock trial team. In addition, he is an active student of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, as well as a former faculty member for the Deposition Skills seminar in San Diego.
