Craig H. Wendland is a senior associate in the civil business litigation and transaction practice at The Frost Firm in downtown San Diego.
After growing up outside of Chicago, Wendland attended the University of California at Berkeley and received his undergraduate degree in molecular and cell biology, emphasizing in genetics and minoring in rhetoric. After graduation, he moved to the nation’s biotechnology hub in beautiful San Diego, where he worked for almost a decade in research, production and management at one of the world’s largest biotechnology firms.
Wendland attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, where he excelled academically and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2007. While pursuing his law degree, Wendland was awarded several honors, including the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Criminal Punishment in 2007, and Mediation in 2007, as well as multiple Witkin Legal Institute Awards for Academic Excellence. After graduation, Wendland was offered a position at one of Am Law’s Top 100 rated law firms, where he received his practical law experience, prior to entering private practice and joining The Frost Firm in 2012.
Wendland is passionate about the law and dedicated to his work and clients. He has devoted his practice to the representation of a broad range of clientele in the fields of finance, life sciences and high technology in a variety of business transaction, litigation and intellectual property matters. Wendland's primary practice focuses on complex civil litigations, securities transactions, derivative actions and arbitrations. His experience also extends to compound licensing opportunities and commercial disputes involving emerging technologies.
Wendland remains a conscientious San Diego citizen, and has dedicated a great deal of time and effort giving back to his community. Wendland received the Wiley M. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services for his work in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Wendland was also recognized by the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program and honored with its Distinguished Service Award in both 2011 and 2012. Wendland is pleased to be The Frost Firm’s pro bono coordinator and chair.
In his spare time, Wendland enjoys swimming, hiking and reading. Wendland is a travel enthusiast and has toured extensively throughout the world.
