Fresh Paint California: A Plein Air Art Exhibition

The exhibition will showcase some of California’s finest plein air painters. Plein air artists paint outdoors to capture the spontaneity and transience of light as it is reflected on the natural world. The exhibition includes paintings done in outdoor locations, as well as ones painted in studio environments after the artist has created smaller outdoor studies. The public is invited to the artists’ reception on Sunday, June 29, 2-4 p.m

Hailed as a “candy-coated throwback treat,” Bye Bye Birdie tells the story of Albert Peterson, agent and songwriter for the hip-thrusting Conrad Birdie. Albert goes into a panic when Mr. Birdie is drafted into the Army and his departure is imminent. Albert engineers a desperate publicity stunt that unexpectedly causes good-natured chaos. Birdie, a rock star with a suspicious resemblance to Elvis Presley, is difficult to be controlled in the small town of Sweetapple, Ohio. . Tickets can also be purchased through after August 3rd.

Motorcycle Rally to Support Down Syndrome Center

Councilmember Scott Sherman will lead this year’s “Ride of Inspiration,” a charity motorcycle event and community festival to support DS Action, a non-profit organization that supports individuals with Down Syndrome and their parents. Money raised at the event will also support the Down Syndrome Center at Rady Children’s Hospital. Hundreds of riders will participate in the ride. The event will also have a car show and musical performances.
