Otay Ranch Rated Top-Selling Master Plan

Otay Ranch, a 5,300-acre development of The Otay Ranch Co., was the top-selling master-planned community in San Diego County for the second quarter. It was the third consecutive quarter the East Chula Vista development was the county's top-selling planned community, according to The Meyers Group, a real estate information services company.

Otay Ranch homebuilders sold 241 homes during the second quarter, and have sold more than 900 homes since the grand opening in April 1999. Builders Centex Homes, Pacific Coast Communities, Shea Homes, Trimark Pacific Homes and William Lyon Homes have a total of 30 models open. Prices for single-family detached homes range from the low $200,000s to the high $300,000s.

Centex Homes on Saturday is releasing the first phases of its Wildhorse and The Hunt Club neighborhoods at Seabreeze Farms community in the Carmel Valley area of San Diego.

The Hunt Club phase consists of seven homes priced in the low $700,000s. The neighborhood's 45 homes will feature three floor plans from 4,105 to 4,528 square feet with four and five bedrooms. Wildhorse's first phase is eight of a planned 55 homes in three floor plans from 3,163 to 3,770 square feet with three to six bedrooms. Prices are expected to start in the $600,000s.

Davidson Communities on Saturday will release a dozen homes as the second phase of its 99-unit Shelbourne neighborhood in La Costa Valley. Prices will start in the low $500,000s. Four floor plans are offered from 2,700 to 3,900 square feet with three to five bedrooms.

McMillin Homes on Saturday will release phases of two neighborhoods from its McMillin Lomas Verdes at Otay Ranch in Chula Vista; the first increment of phase two at Primrose; and the first half of the first phase at Marigold. At the recent grand opening of the two neighborhoods, 12 sales occurred.

Primrose will release six of 90 homes planned, priced from the high $260,000s. Floor plans range from 2,116 to 2,485 square feet with four and five bedrooms.

Marigold will release six of a planned 74 homes prices from the $230,000s. Floor plans range from 1,768 to 2,038 square feet with three and four bedrooms.

Fieldstone Communities on Saturday will release 22 homes at its Monterey Point and Monterey Ridge neighborhoods at EastLake Trails in Chula Vista.

The 10 homes released as the fifth phase at Point take the neighborhood to half way. Floor plans range from 2,564 to 2,950 square feet with three to five bedrooms. Prices begin in the high $200,000s.

Ridge will release a dozen homes. Floor plans range from 2,356 to 2,872 square feet with prices starting in the upper $200,000s.

Cornerstone Communities reports 17 sales of a planned 71 homes at its Sagewood neighborhood at EastLake Trails in Chula Vista. The first phase has sold out, second phase sales are under way, and a 13-unit third phase released is planned.

Three floor plans from 2,500 to 3,415 square feet offer up to six bedrooms. Prices start in the low $300,000s.

McMillin Homes on Saturday will release eight home sites as the second half of the fifth phase of its Legends neighborhood at Temeku Hills Golf and Country Club community in Temecula. The homes will be priced from the low $200,000s.

Legends has two single-story and a pair of two-story floor plans from 1,814 to 2,590 square feet with two to five bedrooms.

Barratt American reports 18 sales at its 44-home Olive Hill Ranch community in Murrieta. One- and two-story floor plans range from 3,175 to 3,944 square feet with three to six bedrooms. Current prices range from $453,990 to $537,990.

Ryland Homes reports 118 homes purchased at its nearly sold-out Canyon Crest in Santa Clarita. Remaining homes are priced from $308,990 to $351,990. Four floor plans offer three and five bedrooms.
