Art show to benefit at-risk youth

The San Diego Center for Children has teamed up with ARTS (A Reason To Survive) and art gallery Mixture to host an exhibit that will feature the art of at-risk youths. The theme of the exhibit is "San Diego Through a Child's Eyes" with the artwork reflecting the artists' interpretation of favorite places in the city, including mountains, beaches, deserts, parks, downtown and theme parks.

All children featured at the event are involved with programs at the San Diego Center for Children, the Ronald McDonald House, San Diego Hospice and Children's Hospital of San Diego.

The art exhibit takes place Thursday, Nov. 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Mixture, located at 2210 Kettner Blvd. The $5 donations at the door will go to support art programs. To make reservations for the event, call (858) 277-9550 ext. 344 or e-mail rsvp@centerforchildren.org.
