The Salvation Army Kroc Center will be featuring its "challenge zone" at an open house next month.
The Challenge Course Open House will offer six high-climbing challenges (complete with safety harnesses), including the Leap of Faith off a 25-foot pole toward a trapeze bar and other courses with names like Giant's Ladder, Vine Walk, Catwalk, Criss Cross and Flying Squirrel. The 30-foot Kroc Center Climbing Tower will feature six rock-climbing routes.
The challenge will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Kroc Recreation Field located at 6753 University Ave.
The open house is sponsored by the Aztec Recreation Center Team Challenge, San Diego State University's teambuilding program.
The event costs $10 for members of the Aztec Recreation Center and Kroc Center, and $15 for general admittance. Participants must be at least 8 years old, sign a waiver and wear closed-toe athletic shoes.
