A 3.1-acre (net useable) site in San Elijo Hills at San Elijo Road and Wild Canyon Drive in San Marcos has been sold for $725,000.
The buyer was San Elijo Sports Club, LLC, with Andrew Farmer and Paige Patridge-Farmer, as managing partners, 1836 Tennis Place, Encinitas 92024.
The acquisition was financed with a loan of $369,250 from Security Business Bank of San Diego.
The seller of the property (assessor's parcel 679-220-02) was the San Elijo Hills Development Company LLC.
The new ownership plans to build the resort-style San Elijo Sports Club.
The proposed clubhouse will include facilities for weight training, cardio-training, yoga, Pilates, an Internet café, and men's and women's locker rooms.
Plans call for outdoor facilities, including tennis courts, a family swimming pool, a hydrotherapy spa, a basketball/sports court and an outdoor patio with fireplace.
A number of other construction milestones will be met this year in the 1,920-acre San Elijo Hills master plan, including the opening of an Albertsons/Sav-on store in July in the towncenter and the opening of a 250-acre regional park this fall.
The Farmers established the West Coast Tennis Academy in the 1980s, which currently operates at the Bobby Riggs Tennis Club in Encinitas and the El Camino Country club in Oceanside.
