SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the San Francisco Bay area as some wild weather rolls through the area.
Forecasters say a unsettled weather system moving into the area Thursday night is bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds.
An official at San Francisco International Airport says lightning from the storms hit a United Airlines flight, forcing the plane to return to the airport Thursday night.
Duty Manager John Ginty says the plane landed safely and there were no injuries to anyone on the jet.
He did not have any details of the flight and did not know what time it landed at the airport.
United Airlines did not immediately return a call seeking information about the incident.
