Reno Contracting has announced the hiring of Joseph Hernandez as the company’s new chief estimator.
Hernandez will lead Reno’s preconstruction and estimating department and help construction teams and clients make informed decisions through analysis and management of project costs.
His responsibilities at Reno will also encompass performing and reviewing detailed takeoffs; life cycle cost analysis; conceptual and hard bid estimates; and material selection and procurement.
He will report directly to company president Walt Fegley.
Hernandez has more than 30 years of experience in all levels of estimating – from concept through final estimate – for large complex construction projects, as well as preconstruction services, value engineering and project management.
Hernandez previously worked as a senior estimator at both PCL and Roel construction companies. He also served in estimating and project manager functions for Nielsen-Dillingham Construction Co., Birtcher Construction and WEBCoR Builders.
