Mamaís Kitchen has announced that its 17th annual Wine Tasting at Bourbon Street in University Heights on Aug. 16 raised more than $26,000. Proceeds from the annual summer social event, this year presented by Revivals, support the daily operations of Mama’s Kitchen, a nonprofit that prepares and delivers three meals a day, seven days a week, at no charge to men, women and children affected by AIDS/HIV or cancer.
“Hunger knows no season, and the summer months can be a slow time for donations to our organization. So fundraisers like our annual Wine Tasting are critical during the summer,” said Alberto Cortés, executive director of Mamaís Kitchen, according to a release. “An event like this is not possible without the generosity of our sponsors, like Revivals, and the support of our guests and volunteers.”
