On the Move: Sztraicher promoted at BioMed Realty

Karen Sztraicher has been promoted to executive vice president of asset management at BioMed Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE: BMR)

Prior to joining Bernardo Property Advisors, the predecessor to BioMed Realty, Sztraicher held a variety of senior positions in real estate accounting, finance and asset management at GMS Realty LLC, now Terramar Retail Centers, CB Richard Ellis -- now CBRE (NYSE: CBG) -- and Donahue Schriber.

Jonathan P. Klassen has been promoted to senior vice president and general counsel of BioMed Realty.

Klassen joined the BioMed just after its initial public offering in 2004 and has served as a vice president since 2006, as the company's secretary since 2008 and as the company's assistant general counsel since 2010.

Klassen was previously an attorney employed by Latham & Watkins LLP.



Chris Rink, a 24 year veteran in commercial real estate, has joined Sperry Van Ness|Finest City Commercial's San Diego office as the new director of its Net Leased Investment Group.

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Rink spent the past 14 years with Cassidy Turley San Diego -- formerly known as Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial -- as a senior vice president.



Jeffery Smith has joined the management team of Integral Senior Living as a regional marketing director.

Smith previously worked for Seattle-based Merrill Gardens, Pasadena-based Team West Realty Group, West Virginia-based Atria Senior Living Group and Beverly Hills-based Roxbury Properties in a variety of management positions.



Mary Kay Bier has been promoted to shareholder at Lee & Associates.

Bier, who specializes in tenant and buyer representation of flex/R&D, industrial, office and retail properties, joined Lee & Associates in 2009 and is based in the Carlsbad office.

Previously, Bier worked with Cushman & Wakefield.


Bryan Cunningham has been named a vice president of retail brokerage at Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL).

A 10-year retail brokerage veteran, Cunningham previously worked for Cushman & Wakefield's Retail Advisors, Southwest Region, specializing in landlord and tenant representation.



Hamilton Pollard has joined Cassidy Turley San Diego as vice president of the firm's industrial division.

He, who will work out of the Carlsbad office, joins the company after more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate.

Previously, Pollard was the regional director for First Industrial Realty Trust Inc.



Marc Stanworth has joined Capstone Advisors as vice president where he will play a key role in the firm's real estate investment activities.

Prior to joining Capstone, Stanworth was vice president of acquisitions and asset management with Hillwood Investments, a Texas-based diversified real estate firm led by Ross Perot Jr.



Joe Newman has been named regional director of asset services for Voit Real Estate Services' Southern California divisions including San Diego, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.

Prior to joining Voit, Newman served as director of CBRE's San Diego asset services division and downtown brokerage office.

Newman has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, including 25 years with CBRE.



Paul Twardowski has been promoted to senior managing director at Hines and will oversee of all Hines' investments and management in Orange and San Diego counties including acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, development and renovation projects.

Since joining Hines in 1998, Twardowski has contributed to the development, acquisition, financing and/or management of 9.2 million square feet of commercial real estate representing approximately $2.9 billion.



Thomas K. Wright has been named managing director of The Douglas Wilson Cos.' asset and property management for the West Coast.

Wright has more than 25 years of diverse real estate experience, including real property due diligence, development, asset management, marketing, brokerage and banking.

Prior to working for Wilson, Wright was an executive real estate consultant and asset manager, and led his own investment and development consulting firm.



Chito Gutierrez has been recruited as the new office operations manager for CBRE's three San Diego offices.

Gutierrez recently retired from the Navy with the rank of lieutenant commander after more than 20 years of service.

Most recently, he served as administrative department head of the USS Nimitz, where he managed administrative operations and directly supervised more than 80 personnel.



Michael Sabella, Amy Shanks, Bobby Allen and Tammy Edwards have been named to new posts at N.N. Jaeschke Inc. Management Division.

Sabella joins Jaeschke as a community manager. He has worked in the real estate industry since 1989, and founded a mortgage brokering firm in San Diego.

Shanks also joins Jaeschke as a community manager. She entered the community association industry in 2003.

Allen began working at Jaeschke in 2007. Before his promotion from administrative assistant to community manager, Allen was trained and mentored for two years in the firm's management training program.

Edwards has been promoted to be a division director post. She has more than 10 years in the industry.



Rick Vesci, a real estate specialist since 1985, has joined Real Living Lifestyles Fairbanks Ranch as a new broker.

A 25-year industry veteran Vesci has worked for Prudential US/México, Coldwell Banker New Homes in Mission Viejo, Argus Hospitality Group in San Clemente, Club Corp. of Dallas and Four Seasons Real Estate Group in Carlsbad.
