SDAR to host workshop for first-time homebuyers

The San Diego Association of Realtors will host a free workshop for first-time homebuyers on Oct. 20.

A panel of experts will discuss how to achieve homeownership and answer questions about purchasing a first home. Sen. Joel Anderson will co-host the event, which starts at 9 a.m. at SDAR’s Kearny Mesa Service Center on 4845 Ronson Court.

Topics covered at this workshop will include: educational resources to help buyers become purchase-ready; how to choose a Realtor; special down payment assistance programs for first-time home buyers; home buyer programs in cities throughout San Diego County; special loan products and grants for first-time home buyers; buyer-broker relationship; bank-owned, real estate owned and short sale information; renovation loans for an existing home; available tax credits; and a legislative update with a question-and-answer opportunity.
