Sempra wins pipeline contract from Mexico’s CFE

Comision Federal de Electricidad, Mexico’s state-owned power company, awarded a contract to build and operate a natural-gas pipeline to Sempra Energy (NYSE: SRE).

Sempra will build and operate the 530-kilometer natural gas pipeline in northern Mexico, CFE, as the Mexico City-based company is known, said in an e-mailed statement. The pipeline will be built in two phases, one to be completed by October 2014 and the other by July 2015, CFE said.

Sempra will charge CFE $0.13 per million Btu.
