Roberts still ahead of Danon in District 3

Dave Roberts is still holding a small lead over Steve Danon in the District 3 Board of Supervisors race after the county released Thursday evening the first of what looks to be several upcoming ballot count updates, including 100,000 additional votes countywide.

The additional ballots come from the 475,000 absentee and provisional ballots that were not tallied on Election Day. About 375,000 of them are left to count from around the county, according to the Registrar of Voters.

Roberts, the deputy mayor of Solana Beach has a lead in the race of 1,898 votes, holding 50.68 percent of the vote with a total of 70,257 votes. Danon has 68,359 votes so far. After the first round of absentee and provisional counts, the race remains relatively unchanged, but still close.
