Nor'easter KO'd power to about 55,000 with Con Ed

NEW YORK (AP) -- Consolidated Edison Inc. says the nor'easter knocked out power to another 55,000 customers in New York City and Westchester County.

When the nor'easter hit on Wednesday, Con Ed crews were still working to restore 67,000 customers from Superstorm Sandy.

Early Thursday, the company reported this New York City outage breakdown from both storms: 21,000 in Queens, 7,000 in Brooklyn, 4,000 in the Bronx, 3,900 on Staten Island and 140 in Manhattan.

In Westchester, there were about 35,000 customers still out of service early Thursday. Some communities there were hit especially hard by tree damage, downed wires and road closures.
