PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (AP) -- Two Palm Springs police officers have shot and killed a man during a fight in a downtown parking structure.
Police Sgt. Mike Kovaleff said the officers, who were on bicycle patrol early Saturday, were breaking up a fight between two people in separate vehicles.
When the officers approached the vehicles, a man confronted the officers and they opened fire.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kovaleff said the man was not armed. His name was not immediately released.
The circumstances that led to the shooting were under investigation.
