Bomb threat forces closure of Rodeo Drive

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- Beverly Hills police say several blocks of Rodeo Drive were closed for several hours while the bomb squad investigated a suspicious package left in front of a Chanel store.

An employee of the store found a cardboard box before noon Sunday with a handwritten note containing anti-Semitic comments and a threat that there was a bomb inside.

Authorities evacuated the store and shut down several blocks of the tony shopping street to check it out.

Sgt. Max Subin said the package turned out to be empty.

He said investigators were reviewing surveillance video to determine who left the box.
