The following "Local Notes" appeared in The Daily Transcript's Nov. 14, 1925 issue:
It is expected the city council at the regular meeting on Monday will elect a successor to Harry K. Weitzel. There are now in the field an even dozen candidates and more may enter the race.


A campaign has been started by the local lodge of Moose for the purpose of adding 500 new members to the organization.


The recently organized "Clean Amusement" association plans to have a large number of its members at the council's meeting on Monday if the dance ordinance comes up. It passed first reading a week ago.


The big maneuvers of the fleet in which all kinds of fighting craft will take part between San Diego and San Pedro, will take place Friday at dawn, continuing until Saturday morning.


City Attorney Higgins is completing the answer of the city to the amended complaint of the Cuyamaca Water Co., and expects to file it in a superior court on Monday.
