Filner names former aide to be chief of staff

Mayor-Elect Bob Filner has named his former aide, Vince Hall, to be his chief of staff.

Hall currently serves as vice president of Public Affairs & Communications for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest. He has nine years of prior experience in Filner’s offices, having served as a council representative while Filner was the District Eight city councilman, and as district director after Filner was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I am honored to have this opportunity to serve Mayor Filner and the people of this great city, which has been my home for nearly 30 years,” Hall said. “I am inspired by the opportunity to bring my many years of experience in local, state, and federal government to bear on the challenges facing the new administration.”

Hall has a J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and a B.A. in Communications from San Diego State University. Hall is currently volunteering with the Mayoral Transition Team and will begin his duties in the Mayor’s office on inauguration day, Dec. 3.
