The following "Local Notes" appeared in The Daily Transcript's Dec. 4, 1995 issue:
It looks like the number of new jobs at U.S. companies next year could be offset by the number of job cuts, according to a poll of human resources executives by the management consultant William M. Mercer. The survey of 162 executives found 37 percent expect hiring to pick up at their firms in 1996, but 35 percent expect reduced employment at their companies.


Insight Enterprises Inc. of Tempe, Ariz., has signed a letter of intent to acquire San Diego-based Andataco, which sells Unix products. The purchase price is roughly $16.8 million.


Cupertino-based NetManage has completed its acquisition of locally based Age Logic Inc. for 1 million shares of common stock – worth approximately $22.5 million based on Friday trading.


Gary Luick has resigned as president and CEO of GTI Corp. to pursue other career opportunities.
