Assemblyman hospitalized after LA car accident

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Democratic assemblyman and candidate for Los Angeles city attorney Mike Feuer will spend a few days in the hospital after a truck hit his car as he was driving to the swearing-in ceremony for new District Attorney Jackie Lacey, but he's expected to make a full recovery.

Feuer's campaign said in a statement that the assemblyman was driving his Toyota Prius on the way to Lacey's ceremony Monday when he was hit by a truck that had run a red light.

The statement says Feuer will stay in the hospital “for the next few days,” but his injuries are not life-threatening and he is expected to make a “full and speedy recovery.”
