Murrieta Library revises operating hours

In response to patron usage patterns and to improve library access, the Murrieta Library will revise its operating hours, effective Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.

The revised hours are Mondays and Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 5 p.m.

"This change does not affect the total number of operating hours," said library Director Loretta McKinney. "In fact, library staff have always wanted to open on Monday and Tuesday mornings since those two days have the most patronage. With Friday and Saturday mornings being so slow, it makes more sense to shift the hours from the latter end to the beginning of the week. Also, with the new catalog database and new library Web page, patrons have 24/7 access to their accounts and up-to-date resources. The changes in hours, coupled with the online access will really improve the community's ability to utilize the library to the fullest."

The Murrieta Public Library is located at 8 Town Square (Adams Avenue and Kalmia Street). For information, call 951-304-BOOK (2665) or visit the library's Web page at www.murrietalibrary.info.
