Alliant School of Management's Dr. Rachna Kumar has been appointed to the World Trade Center San Diego's board of directors.
Kumar is the M.B.A. program director and professor of information systems and technology in the School of Management at Alliant International University in San Diego. She teaches courses in the Electronic Commerce, Data Mining, and Business Intelligence areas and specializes in transfer of information systems skills in bi-national contexts, computer mediated technology and remote work environments, drivers of innovation in organizations and online education. She has published more than 50 articles in these areas in journals and conferences.
Kumar has consulted for several firms in United States, Mexico, Turkey and India and is an active member of the academic community as journal reviewer, as member of advisory panels, and as member of editorial boards.
Kumar has a Ph.D. in information systems from Stern School of Business at New York University, N.Y.
The World Trade Center San Diego board of directors consists of leaders in international trade serving a two year term. The new board was announced by the CEO and President Steven W. Weathers at the World Trade Center's annual breakfast event at the University Club on Friday, Dec. 14, which was attended by San Diego Mayor Bob Filner.
