Teen who used laser at Cardinals game on probation

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A St. Louis teenager is serving six months of probation for aiming a laser pointer at a San Francisco Giants player during a game at Busch Stadium in St. Louis last August.

Eric Bogard will face jail time if he violates probation before mid-June. He also must complete 20 hours of community service and pay the St. Louis Cardinals $500.

Bogard, who was 17 at the time, was identified by Cardinals manager Mike Matheny as the person who pointed a laser from a suite at a Giants pitcher on Aug. 5.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/UmRaMX ) Bogard pleaded guilty Dec. 14 to disturbing the peace at an athletic event. A second charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement.
