USD business school council announces new leadership

David Salisbury has been named chair of the University of San Diego School of Business Administration’s Alumni Council.

Salisbury is the director of business development for the West Coast region at the law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo PC.

USD also announced that Alex Barnes, who most recently was a special projects analyst for Sempra Energy’s risk analysis & management group, will serve as vice chair of the business school's Alumni Council.

Hope Mago of Huntington Capital in La Jolla will serve as the secretary of finance, and Michael Cole, vice president and general manager of Home Care Extraordinaire in southern California, will be secretary of records.

The council has formed three subcommittees: the education committee, chaired by member Lynn Hijar; the social committee, chaired by Ben Wood; and the giving back committee, chaired by Victoria Crown.

Other council members include Cathie Deal, Missy Hart, Jason Sweeney, Burt Brigida, Sean Ferrel, Kyle Fitzgerald and Tim Lyons.

The opening of the Cymer Ideation Space and Donald's Garage on April 10 signaled the completion of the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering's first phase of growth. The school plans to increase its undergraduate enrollment, add a master's program and continue to expand its physical footprint in the coming years.
