US chamber says economic growth will be 2.5% for 2013

Jan. 10 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue said the U.S. economy is expanding and isn’t likely to slip back into recession.

Economic growth will be 1.5 percent to 1.75 percent in the first half of the year, accelerating to 2.5 percent by the end of 2013, Donohue said today in a speech in Washington.

The U.S. still has “fragile growth,” resulting in weak job creation and risks from “critical deadlines” in Washington, Donohue said.
