Related Special Reports

The Murrieta Economic Development Department and the World Trade Center San Diego are hosting a seminar on "mastering exports" for the business community from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29 at the Murrieta Public Library.

With the global market expanding, export compliance is more important than ever to understand. "Tools 4 Trade: Mastering Exports" is a workshop that will teach business owners the ins and outs of export compliance and the business involved in international trade.

Attendees will learn how to keep up with export compliance regulations; avoid common missteps in exporting; avoid regulatory headaches that may strip companies of customers and profits; and obtain valuable work skills needed in four key areas of international business: consolidation of goods/containers, bulk/break bulk shipping, export financing, and export compliance.

Scheduled presenters are Roy Paulson, president of Paulson Manufacturing Corp. who will moderate; Bank of America Merrill Lynch on "Financing Your Export Transaction;" Port of Long Beach on "Container/Goods Consolidation;" Unified Port of San Diego on "Bulk Break-bulk Shipping;" and World Academy on the "Importance of Export Documentation."

The course fee is $45 and includes lunch and program materials. Walk-ins will pay $65 at the door. Please register at www.wtcsd.org/events.
