The following "Local Notes" appeared in The Daily Transcript's Jan. 18, 1910 issue:

Contrary to first reports, the body of the man below Point of Rocks last Thursday is not that of Engineer Ettor Gerolami. The body, unless identified as that of an American citizen, will be buried in Mexican territory where it was found.

For the first time today the new Curtiss flying boat made its appearance on the water and was made given a number of trials. The motor of this new craft can be cranked from the seat, instead of having to be cranked with the propeller, as in older models.

The total rainfall for this season up to today noon is 2.91½ inches, the seasonal deficiency being 1.42 inches. More rain, however, is predicted for the coming week.

President Benjamin Ide Wheeler, of the state university at Berkeley, last night gave an interesting talk to the members of the University club of this city. Mr. Wheeler has been delighted with his visit, and returned north this evening.
