3 arrested in stabbing death of Hemet teen, 16

HEMET, Calif. (AP) -- Riverside County sheriff's officials say a man and two teen boys have been arrested in the stabbing death of a 16-year-old boy on a street in Hemet.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/W9Uq9O) the suspects in custody on Thursday are 20-year-old Francisco Zavala and a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old whose names were not released because of their age.

Witnesses told authorities that three or four people stabbed Eric Sargeant Jr. late Monday afternoon.

He was flown to Riverside County Regional Medical Center where he died about five hours after the attack.

Zavala's bail has been set at $1 million. The teens were booked into Juvenile Hall.
