The city of Murrieta, the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce, and Roy Paulson of Paulson Manufacturing have teamed up with regional manufacturing companies to help launch the Southwest Riverside County Regional Manufacturing Cluster within the region.
This has been the result of several manufacturers in the area recognizing the importance of manufacturing to the local economy and the need to grow manufacturing and exporting as a key component for the region's economic development. The new group has engaged and teamed up with local cities and chambers of commerce to help organize this manufacturing cluster. The new group is intended to serve all manufacturers in the Murrieta, Temecula, Lake Elsinore, nearby North San Diego County, Hemet, Perris and all of greater Southwest Riverside county.
The purpose of the group is to help identify the needs of manufacturers and to link them to the many available tools and opportunities that will help them to be more successful and to encourage the growth of manufacturing in the region.
Joseph Mignone of JFM Global has been named chairman of the group. Mignone has a strong background in manufacturing consulting.
As a manufacturer within the region, the Southwest Riverside County Manufacturers organization invites interested manufacturers to attend the next meeting to network with other manufacturers who share some of the same needs. The meeting will held on Feb. 5 at the new Murrieta Chamber of Commerce office located at 25125 Madison Ave., Suite 108, Murrieta 92562.
As suggested by the manufacturers who attended the first meeting in January in Murrieta, the discussion will be with the Murrieta Valley Unified School District and the Lake Elsinore School District regarding ways to help identify how manufacturers can work with the school districts to promote manufacturing employment training.
In addition, attendees will have some time to network with other local manufacturers and others in attendance. As the group moves forward, the intent is to create a small planning/thought-leadership group with industry to get input on how the cities, chambers of commerce and manufacturers can work together on common goals to promote the growth of manufacturing in the region. The Southwest Riverside Manufacturer's organization is reaching out to all manufacturers in the region to participate.
