Adams will oversee the expansion of the firm’s San Diego practice, coordinating the direction of San Diego client services utilizing her leadership experience in the accounting and auditing profession.
“The addition of Helen Adams infuses our team with more than three decades of experience serving the industries that are at the pulse of the San Diego economy, specifically in the area of science and technology,” said Wayne Pinnell, Haskell & White’s managing partner. “Her broad skill set and industry expertise will continue the significant growth of Haskell & White as we expand our presence in Southern California.”
Haskell & White opened its San Diego office in 2008 and serves a diverse client base with audit, tax and SOX consulting services. The office will leverage Adams’ financial services and advisory experience serving companies in the technology, life science, clean-tech, alternative energy and real estate industries.
Prior to joining Haskell & White, Adams served as an audit partner with Deloitte, where she was involved with IPOs and secondary offerings, M&A transactions and litigation consulting services. She also worked with a range of public and private clients to establish accounting and financial controls and advise on corporate strategy.
Adams is the audit committee chair and member of the compensation committee for San Diego based public company LRAD Corp. (Nasdaq: LRAD). She has also served as chairman of the board of Athena San Diego, an organization supporting the advancement of women in the fields of science and technology; as chairman of Deloitte’s San Diego FAST 50 Program; and has worked with other local organizations such as Make A Wish, The Senior Community Centers, Chairmen’s Roundtable, Software San Diego, LEAD and the YWCA of San Diego. She is a member of the California State University, San Marcos Foundation Board, the membership committee of Corporate Directors’ Forum and is an executive board member of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest.
“I am proud to take on these new responsibilities with the Haskell & White organization,” said Adams. “With its outstanding commitment to client service, enviable growth record and reputation as an excellent place to work, I believe the firm is well positioned to expand its middle-market practice in the San Diego region.”
