Restaurant building in Rancho Bernardo sold

The approximately 8,915-square-foot restaurant building in Rancho Bernardo at 16785 Bernardo Center Drive, San Diego 92128, has been sold for $1,925,000, cash.

The buyer was Mark Wiegner, 311 S. Ellsworth Ave., San Mateo 94401. The sellers of the property (assessor's parcel 274-780-36) were Robert S. Delue and Rita Delue, trustees of the Robert S. Delue and Rita Delue 1995 Revocable Family Trust, and Kevin B. Cullinane and Lisa M. Cullinane, trustees of The Cullinane 2000 Revocable Family Trust.

The property had been listed by Mike Clark, Joe Yetter and Brent Williams, of Cassidy Turley San Diego.

The two-level, free-standing building is in the 167,000-square-foot The Plaza shopping center at 16761-16789 Bernardo Center Drive. The building was constructed in 1982 and '83 on a 16,988-square-foot pad, and was formerly occupied by the Acapulco restaurant and the New Panda Buffet. In August 2005, the property was sold for $2.4 million.

I would loved to see a first class quality Mexican restaurant open there.

Would love to see a Whole Enchilada restaurant open there. I know of one in Diamond Bar, CA that is absolutely fabulous!!!

I would love to see another Mexican restaurant , like Acapulco (yes, again), Miguel's, or the best bet would be for Diane Powers, owner of three - Casa: Guadalajara, Pico or Bandini. We don't have a nice Mexican place in RB.

In the heart of the Plaza Shopping Center, I would consider a KFC, Wendy's, McDonalds, or Olive Garden.
