Local chefs’ nine-course meal to raise funds for chef battling lymphoma

Some of San Diego's and Baja's best chefs are coming together to create a nine-course meal to support former West Coast Tavern Executive Chef Peter Zakarian, who is in the midst of battling non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

The culinary event, held on Tuesday, will raise funds for Zakarian's treatment. He is currently undergoing chemo and a stem cell treatment at UCSD Moores Cancer Center.

Confirmed participating chefs and purveyors include: Isabel Cruz, Isabel's Cantina and Barrio Star and Coffee Cup Cafe; Miguel Valdez, The Wellington and The Red Door Restaurant & Wine Bar; Hanis Cavin, Carnitas' Snack Shack; Flor Franco and Jesus Gonzalez, Indulge Contemporary Catering; Javier Plascencia and Adria Montano, Mision 19; Antonio Friscia, Gaijin Noodle + Sake House; Ron Oliver, The Marine Room; Catalina Offshore Products; and Snake Oil Cocktail Co.
